For children

For years we have worked actively with the Home for Medical and Social Care in Pernik. Over time, company employees have taken up as a personal cause the care of the children and the improvement of their living conditions at the Home. Traditionally, every BGN donated by the employees has been matched by another three from the company. With the help of TechnoLogica and its team four kitchens were remodeled and re-equipped, old and decayed clothes lockers were replaced with new ones, the playground equipment in the Home’s yard was painted and repaired, and a brand new slide and swing donated by the company replaced some of the old broken and obsolete equipment.

One of the Christmas cards sent by the company was drawn by a boy living at the Home and all our partners and clients received it with our hope that they would join TechnoLogica in our effort to take care of the abandoned children. The money that the company had normally spent on greeting cards was donated to the Home. Clothing, diapers, toys and food are collected and donated to support the rearing of the kids. With this project, we are not only contributing to the children’s welfare, but also trying to instill values in our employees.

In 2011, the company's focus was directed towards the prevention of the placement of children in institutions. TechnoLogica joined the Tulip Foundation’s “Programme for Support for Children and Families in the Community Aimed at Prevention of Child Institutionalization”, in which employees participated with donations of clothes and shoes for adults and children. Their donations were directed to local civic organizations that work with families living in extreme poverty, which is one of the most common causes for the abandonment of children in institutions. By participating in this initiative, TechnoLogica’s employees gave their modest contribution to overcoming some of the problems, which families at risk face every day. Families in Dobrich, Varna, Byala Slatina and Kneja benefited from the donations.

Another charity project which TechnoLogica joined was initiated by BAIT (the Bulgarian Association of Information Technologies) and the Blagotvoritel Foundation. The project is called “On the Web” and its aim is to provide computers and web access to as many as possible of the Homes for Children Deprived of Parental Care. TechnoLogica joined the campaign with a donation of color computer displays. Thanks to this incentive more children from the 8th to the 12th grade were motivated to try harder and be more responsible.

With a donation of computer hardware TechnoLogica supported another Tulip Foundation project for the creation of a computer hall in Chitalishte “Svetlina – 1928” in Hotantsa Village in Russe Municipality. The initiative aimed to make access to information easier for the approx. 800 people living in the village. The computers were meant for daily training in computer literacy for children, youths and all people showing an interest. Adults could also use the computers for internet and email access.
