Business Process Modelling

Today the terms "Process Approach" and "Business Process Management" are widely used  in the spheres of business management and information technology. There are many opinions on the exact meaning of these terms but TechnoLogica has adopted the following definitions:
  • Business Process is a set of linked repetitive actions in a specific order, which transform inputs into outputs in accordance with predetermined rules and produce value for customers
  • Business Process Management is a systematic approach to the continuous improvement of the organization by identification, modeling, implementation, execution, monitoring, analysis and optimization of the business processes to meet the objectives of the organization.
The process approach is one of the most successful means to improve the operations of the company, improve competitiveness, increase efficiency, reduce costs and increase customer and employee satisfaction. It allows managers not only to identify and manage key business processes and their results, creating added value for the company, but also to guide the efforts of the individual functional units to a common customer-oriented result.

By using the process approach the company becomes more flexible in relation to the changing environmental conditions and the management can successfully achieve the following objectives:
  • Structuring of activities in the organization and effective allocation of responsibilities among units;
  • Systematic improvement of the activities in the organization;
  • Building of an adequate organizational structure;
  • Implementation of information systems (ERP, CRM, SCM, HRMS);
  • Implementation of quality management systems;
  • Dissemination of knowledge about the organization to each workstation;
  • Development of processing rules;
  • Design of new business directions and business processes;
  • Increasing customer and employee satisfaction.
Business Process Management is a cyclical process that includes:
  • Diagnostics of the current situation in the organization;
  • Modeling the architecture of the organization's status as a set of linked diagrams;
  • Process analysis to establish the weaknesses and define proposals for improvement;
  • Reflect the accepted proposals for improvement in the developed models;
  • Implementation of the improved processes for real life execution in the organization - usually involving information systems;
  • Monitoring and control – tracking of key indicators, measuring the results of the processes so as to establish whether the targets are being achieved.
